Meet the Newest Goodman

On Saturday we got a puppy from the Animal House Shelter in Huntley. We named her Pearl, like the Black Pearl on Pirates of the Caribbean. She is 10 weeks old! They think that she is black lab...she looks and acts it now...we will see when she grows up just how pure bred she is! In true puppy fashion she is up at 5:45 am and is into everything! She really enjoys chasing Ellie Mae around. Ellie is not to impressed with her! She found the pond in the backyard by accident...running full speed across the yard she didn't realize there was water there. She didn't mind...she loves the water! I am kennel training her so that she will be used to it and comfortable traveling in it. Otherwise, she is doing pretty well. Only one accident in the house and seems to most of the time understand the word "no"!
Dustin is starting week three of tech school. He has his first test today. He passed all of his inspections so his status should be updated to ATP. I don't know what it stands for but it means that he is a free man! He will be able to leave the base and wear civilian clothes after duty hours. He also can start the paperwork and appointment process for Pearl and I to move. Please pray that we get a house on base and that the paperwork process goes quickly.

  1. Oh Jen, we so enjoyed the tour of your beautiful home! What fun for you. I'm so impressed that you are so well settled already, but then you do that Carlson blood running through your veins and your mom was there to help too. It looks so roomy and comfy. Maybe you will be out shopping for a kitchen table this weekend. That will be fun.
We will pray that you get a teaching or tutoring job soon. And that you will meet some good friends. You will most likely find them at church. ^_^ Hope you find a church that you like as well as the one in basic.
We pray too that Dustin will feel better REAL SOON! He has been sick for too long.
Way to go, DUSTIN! You really passed that test with flying colors! Val told us this morning when we stopped at the bank to see her.
God bless you in your new home! Let Him be the Lord and Master of all you do.
    Love to you both,
    Grandma and Grandpa too.
